What is CLEAN mode?
CLEAN mode serves two purposes:
• Cleaning the weld seam and adjacent areas from oxides and heat tint
• Polishing the stainless steel surface to achieve a perfect appearance and restore its corrosion resistance
It is an electrochemical process performed using a special electrolytic solution and the PATONBRUSH.
What you need to use CLEAN mode:
- Passivation electrolytic solution (required) — it triggers the chemical reaction that removes contaminants and restores the protective layer on stainless steel.
- PATONBRUSH carbon fiber brush — an in-house PATON engineering design that withstands high temperatures, resists chemical exposure, and effectively cleans hard-to-reach areas.
How CLEAN mode works — step-by-step guide:
- Pour a small amount of electrolyte into a plastic container.
- Dip the PATONBRUSH into the solution.
- Clean the weld seam with circular motions, applying light pressure with the brush.
- Rinse off electrolyte residues with clean water.
- Dry the treated area with a soft cloth.
The result is a clean, shiny weld without the dark residue usually left by pickling solutions.
Polishing — the same principle
CLEAN mode is also ideal for polishing — after treatment, the surface acquires a mirror-like shine, which is especially valuable for jewelry making, food processing equipment, and designer stainless steel products.
